self hosting is kinda cool
ive been messing with this office pc i got from this place i work at. they were replacing the pc's and i got one of the old ones. Ive been using it as a home server with zimaos connected to my router. it was shockingly way easier than i thought and even with only 8gb of ram and being dusty as hell inside, it runs well. im running like multiple different services including a mc server that i had multiple people doing tnt tests and stuff and it ran fine. its carbon footprint is low to, on idle it can be as low as 1.5 watts. ive seen it go up obviously but it doesnt take that much power to be on 24/7. TLDR: im pretty happy with it and this makes me want to get more into homelabbing!
